Welcome to our YouthMetre Project Blog.
YouthMetre is funded for 24 months to develop, pilot and implement an exciting new tool (the YouthMetre) which can be used to help bring young people closer to policy makers.
In recent research, like the survey carried out by the London School of Economics, dissatisfaction with politicians together with the lack of trust towards governments, were considered the strongest barriers to participation for young people.
However, participation in democratic processes at different levels (local, regional, national and European) is essential if you want to get your voice heard.
To try to address this, the YouthMetre Project will provide training, data (via the YouthMetre) and resources to help youngsters get their opinions and ideas across to policy makers.
You can follow the project on Twitter and Facebook to keep up to date with our news.
Further information about the project and our initiatives will follow here soon.

Hey there,
I am very proud to be part of this project!
Youth People definetly need a voice in Europe.
Our ideas and plans can be introduced and make the difference in every single society.
In a moment that youth unemployment is over 32% in Portugal, this opportunity gives us a chance and, in some cases, a place/value in policy decisions.
Those facts presented below – dissatisfaction with politicians together with the lack of trust towards governments – but, more than that, our geographical situation does not give us the feeling that we are inserted in EU.
I am already following on Facebook and, very soon, I will be adding our first suggestions to some of the 8 key areas presented.
Thanks for giving me this opportunity.
