Welcome to our YouthMetre Project Blog.
YouthMetre is funded for 24 months to develop, pilot and implement an exciting new tool (the YouthMetre) which can be used to help bring young people closer to policy makers.
In recent research, like the survey carried out by the London School of Economics, dissatisfaction with politicians together with the lack of trust towards governments, were considered the strongest barriers to participation for young people.
However, participation in democratic processes at different levels (local, regional, national and European) is essential if you want to get your voice heard.
To try to address this, the YouthMetre Project will provide training, data (via the YouthMetre) and resources to help youngsters get their opinions and ideas across to policy makers.
You can follow the project on Twitter and Facebook to keep up to date with our news.
Further information about the project and our initiatives will follow here soon.
